DD-WRT uses DNSMasq and does not give sequentially ordered IP addresses. The addresses are calculated based on your computer's MAC address and "a variable". It's just a little different from the way the original Linksys firmware worked.

With DD-WRT, for the E3000, there is a lot of versions. The DB suggests one, the wiki an other one, the FTP a lot. If it isn't a main router, updating is not vital. For E1000, E3000, you could try freshtomato, which is safer than pulling the trigger on a random version of DD-WRT (even though the de-bricking isn't usually difficult). Or, for a sure bet on the E3000, DD-WRT 35550 K3.

Linksys E3000 The Linksys E3000 is based on the same hardware as the Linksys WRT610N v2.0 with changes to the CFE and a larger NVRAM block. The E3000 is based on the Broadcom 4718 cpu running at 480MHz. It has 8 MB flash (MX29LV640EBTI) and 64 MB SDRAM (H5PS5162FFR).
