Solved: Catchup TV - why is BBC iPlayer so slow? - Virgin Thanks for the replies but perhaps I didn't stress enough that I was not complaining about Virgin's Catch Up TV but just the BBC iPlayer. Every other catch-up service (ITV Hub, Channel 4, even Fox) goes straight to the channel listings. The iPlayer takes at least a minute just to get the BBC's opening page.
